Lead Presenter: Lisa Bliss

  1. Leah Wortham
  2. Nancy Maurer

Session Abstract: The facilitators are editors of two complex collaborative projects to be published in 2015: BUILDING ON BEST PRACTICES: TRANSFORMING LEGAL EDUCATION IN A CHANGING WORLD (BBP) with 4 editors, 59 authors, 42 sections, and 92 commenting readers and the 3rd edition of LEARNING FROM PRACTICE: A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TEXT FOR LEGAL EXTERNS (LFP), with 4 editors, 29 chapters, and 35 authors. The session will give a quick summary of what BBP and LFP say about teaching effective collaboration and teamwork to law students, share their lessons learned in managing these large projects, and ask participants to reflect on their own good and bad experiences with team efforts. The section will close with participants’ suggestions for justice education resources for which participants see a need and consider what kind of team effort might produce them.
