Short Bio: Professor Oluyemisi Bamgbose Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology and Director Women’s Law Clinic, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Teaches Criminal Law, Criminology, Law of Evidence and Comparative Criminal Law and Procedure in the Law Faculty. Visiting Professor at Marquette University School of Law, USA- Fall 2001, at Saint Louis University School of Law, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - Spring 2008 and University of Lagos. Akoka Nigeria 2014 to date. Fellow of Salzburg Seminar Austria Session 339 (1996). Chairperson of The Study Group on the Death Penalty for the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (2005) and Member of Nigeria’s National Committee on the Reform of Discriminatory Laws against Women.(2005). Guest Speaker at the celebration of 100 years of Women in Law, at Saint Louis University, Saint Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. -24 November, 2008 Member-The Nigerian Bar Association; The Nigerian Association of Law Teachers; West African Research Association; West African Research and Innovation Management Association and the International Federation of Women Lawyers. Professor Bamgbose has a strong interest in women and children issues. Currently the Director of the Women’s Law Clinic (a specialized law clinic) and has published over 70 (seventy) articles and technical reports in national and international journals and books.
