Short Bio: Nancy Maurer is a Professor of Law and Director of Field Placement Clinics at Albany Law School in Albany, New York. She teaches a variety of clinical, skills, and interdisciplinary courses including Field Placement, Negotiating for Lawyers, and Legal Issues in Medicine. Nancy founded and for many years directed the Albany Law School’s Civil Rights and Disabilities Law Clinic in which law students represented clients in discrimination, education, and other disability rights matters under faculty supervision. She co-developed Albany Law’s Introduction to Lawyering program designed to expose first year law students to essential research, writing, lawyering skills, and professionalism in context thought a year-long simulation. She writes and lectures in the areas of legal education and disability law. She is co-editor and an author of the New York State Bar Association books on DISABILITY LAW AND PRACTICE. She is an editor for the forthcoming 3rd edition of LEARNING FROM PRACTICE: A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TEXT FOR LEGAL EXTERNS.
