Short Bio: Sue Schechter is the Field Placement Director and Lecturer-in-Residence at UC Berkeley School of Law. She is also the faculty co-director of the Law School's Pro Bono Program. Each semester, about 60-80 law students participate in field placements/externships for academic credit. Sue helps the students find appropriate placements, runs the approval and monitoring process, oversees the teaching components, and handles the evaluations and feedback processes with the support of a program administrator, lecturers, and student assistants. In addition, Sue is a f0under and leader of BACE, the Bay Area Consortium on Externships, and is currently, the co-chair of the AALS Externships Committee with Amy Sankaran from the University of Michigan School of Law.
