Short Bio: Héctor A. Pérez Rivera is a lawyer graduate from the Faculty of Law at the National Autonomous University of México UNAM. Specialized in Fundamental Rights and Constitutional Rights in the Criminal Law and the Criminal Process by the University Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. MA Magna Cum Laude by the California Western University. He has been developing in several civil organizations and governmental institutions related with the defense and promotion of Human Rights. He had a remarkable participation representing the victims in the case González and others (Campo Algodonero) before the Interamerican Court of Human Rights. Has provided several trainings forums and seminars in the area of women human rights and access to justice. Recently, he published the book named “Human Trafficking as a serious violation of Human Rights”. Also has published several papers and articles in specialized books and magazines. Among his line of work, there are training programs to judicial and non-judicial personnel all along the country. He worked in the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime as Legal Specialist for human rights matters, gender violence and public security. Currently he is Manager of the Public Interest Clinic against Human Trafficking of ITAM and belongs to the Work Group for the Implementation of Gender Violence Alerts CONAVIM/INMUJERES. CEO and co-founder of ACCEDeH, a consultancy firm specialized in Human Rights. Also serves as Legal Advisor for many civil organizations such as CATWLAC, INSYDE, National Association of Democratic Lawyers (ANAD) and the Action Group for Humans Rights and Social Justice
