Session Abstract: This session will explore the link between clinical legal education and pro bono. It will discuss the ways in which clinical legal education can support and foster pro bono and instil in our students a life-long commitment to pro bono. It will also discuss and trouble shoot the difficulties in engaging in pro bono work, by comparing two distinct jurisdictions and the ways in which clinicians engage in pro bono work. Finally, it will explore what has worked from each of these jurisdictions to formulate some pointers for engaging in pro bono work.
