Short Bio: Prof. Harry L. Roque is an Associate Professor at the UP College of Law. He holds an LLM from the London School of Economics, an LLB from the University of the Philippines and BA in Economics & Political Science from the University of Michigan. He is also a Professor at the Philippine Judicial Academy, Director of the UP Law Center Institute of Int’l Legal Studies and Chair of Centerlaw Philippines. He represents heirs of victims in the Ampatuan Massacre, and is a counsel in public interest cases like Vinuya v. Executive Secretary (about comfort women in WWII). He is the first Asian admitted to practice before the International Criminal Court, and the UN War Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda. He is also elected to the Governing Council of the Asian Society of Int’l Law and the International Criminal Bar. He is founding editor-in-chief of the Asia-Pacific Yearbook of Int’l Humanitarian Law, and is in the Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of Int’l Law and the Asian Journal of Comparative Law.
