Short Bio: Professor Margaret Martin Barry has been Associate Dean for Clinical and Experiential Programs at Vermont Law School (VLS) since July 2011. She was previously a professor at Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. She has published in the areas of clinical teaching and family law, and has served on numerous professional panels discussing clinical teaching and legal representation. She was chair of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Clinical Legal Education and president of the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA), both are the leading professional organizations for clinical legal educators in the United States. She also served as co-president of the Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) and on the ABA Standards Review Committee, which proposes standards for accreditation of US law schools. Professor Barry is currently active in access to justice initiatives in Vermont; she was similarly active in the D.C. community.
