Short Bio: Martha (Marty) Peters has a PhD in educational psychology and an EDS in Counselor Education. In January 1984 she started one of the first law school academic support programs designed to help students develop law study skills and to manage stress effectively at the University of Florida Law School. In 1999 she developed and directed the Academic Achievement Program at the Iowa Law School. Marty went to Elon Law School in 2006 as a founding faculty member to work with academic support and with the leadership program.
Marty teaches and writes in the areas of legal interviewing and counseling, teaching and learning skills, and stress management. From the beginning of her time in legal education she has connected with clinical programs in a variety of ways. She feels very fortunate to have worked with law students, legal educators, and lawyers on six continents.
