Short Bio: Sara Chandler is a solicitor/academic, Visiting Professor of Clinical Legal Education at London South Bank University since 2012, practising in the Legal Advice Clinic.and Lambeth County Court Help Desk.Sara is Council member of the Law Society of England & Wales, Chair of the Law Society’s Human Rights Committee, President of the Human Rights Commission for the Federation of European Bar Associations, and Chair of the Colombia Caravana UK Lawyers Group,which supports human rights lawyers at risk in Colombia. Sara has a long history of human rights work,at North Lewisham Law Centre from 1982 to 1992,and Plumstead Law Centre from 1998 to 2003.Sara worked with refugees from Chile for 6 years before becoming a lawyer.Sara has trained legal aid and pro bono lawyers in Uganda, Zambia and Nigeria with local Law Societies, Law Schools, and NGO’s establishing networks of legal aid providers.
