Short Bio: Dr. Stephanie K. Boys is an associate professor of social work and an adjunct professor of law at Indiana University at both the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses. She earned a joint JD/MSW from Indiana University (IU) in 2001 and a Ph.D. in social work and political science from the University of Michigan in 2005. She was inducted into the University’s Colloquium of Excellence in Teaching (FACET) in 2012. Her research agenda combines legal studies with the substantive areas of juvenile justice, capital punishment, and welfare policy implementation. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Teaching in Social Work.

In 2011, Dr. Boys and Carrie Hagan were awarded a Curriculum Enhancement Grant to develop and implement a new Civil Practice Clinic where law and social work students are paired to provide holistic services to low-income clients in Indianapolis. This service learning experience is coupled with a weekly seminar that is co-taught.
