About the 2019 Conference

GAJE’s 10th Worldwide Conference will take place in
Bandung, Indonesia from 4 – 10 December 2019.

The conference will be hosted by Pasundan University, consisting of two parts:

  1. a General Conference with plenaries and concurrent sessions on various themes and topics (4-8 December 2019) and
  2. a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshop on practical aspects for implementing justice education, including clinical teaching methods (9-10 December 2019).

Conference Presentations

Presentations and proposal application submission must be related to the conference theme “The Inspiration and Diversity of Justice Education”. There are 14 streams that connect to this main theme, each presentation must fall under one of these streams.  Only the “lead presenter” needs to submit an application. The application will ask to include the names and emails of all c0-presenters. Deadline for applications was 1 June 2019.

TOT Workshop

The Train the Trainers “TOT” will be held on Dec 9-10, 2019.  The 2-day TOT program is designed to provide an opportunity for teachers to enhance their skills and to be exposed to a range of teaching methods and tools.  This year, the TOT will have two tracks: 1) Implementing Justice Education in Diverse Contexts, or 2) Street Law. Participants will be asked to select one of the two tracks at the time of registration. Registration for the TOT is limited, participants who register are required to attend both days.

Conference Organizing Contacts

GAJE’s 10th Worldwide Conference will see up to 500 delegates come together in Bandung, Indonesia in December 2019. Helping to organize and facilitate the many aspects of the conference, a number of persons have volunteered to be on the Conference Planning Committee (CPC), Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Fee Reduction/Waiver & Travel Grant Committee (WTG), Training of Trainers Committee (TOT).
