Short Bio: Ms. Alavi is a graduate of the University of Warwick’s LLM program, specializing in International Development Law and Human Rights, and is currently engaged at a think-tank, the Research Society of International Law, whose area of expertise is international law and its effect upon the domestic legal infrastructure. She has worked on capacity-building projects on the rights of persons with disabilities [PWDs] and has, over the past year, attended the two conferences on the rights of PWDs in Belgium. She has worked on the rights of PWDs and how to represent them at domestic political fora and accord them equal status and rights in accordance with the United Nations Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities and other, similar, international legal documents. She has also practiced in the fields of family law, international trade regulation and international security and is a faculty member at the University of London external LLB program and the graduate program at Iqra University.
