Short Bio: Professor David Tushaus has 14 years experience as an attorney, managing a legal aid office serving low-income persons with civil legal problems in the United States. Subsequently he has 14 years experience creating service learning approaches to teaching legal studies. He was a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India in 2012 when he co-created the projects being presented. He has won several awards including Missouri Western State University Board of Governors’ Distinguished Professor Award in 2009, the Drum Major for Justice Award, Center for Multicultural Education in 2010, and the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education in 2011. He has been Chairperson of the Department of Criminal Justice, Legal Studies & Social Work since 2005.
