Short Bio: Raquel Z. YRIGOYEN FAJARDO is a Peruvian lawyer (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú – PUCP), PhD in law (Universidad de Barcelona-UB), with a Master’s degree in criminal law (UB), and post-graduate studies in Anthropology (DEA-PUCP), criminology (European Common Study Programme) and Indigenous Law (Universidad Autónoma de México-UNAM-Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala –USAC and University of Oklahoma). Currently, she is consultant for the IACHR-OAS to prepare a report on the different forms of discrimination and violence affecting indigenous women in the Americas, professor and coordinator of indigenous rights courses and diplomas at the PUCP. She has worked in human rights, judicial reform, multiculturalism and indigenous rights in several countries in Latin America and Asia (Cambodia & Timor-Leste), for the United Nations and other human rights organisations. She has been a lecturer in many universities in the Americas and Europe. She is founding member of the IILS.
