Title of Presentation: Social Justice Through Social Entrepreneurship
Names of all Presenters: Jonathan Ng, Susan Jones
Short Abstract: Social justice is being expanded through social entrepreneurship, a transformative process of using new ideas to solve social problems on a systematic level and on a large scale. Social entrepreneurs are individuals who are creative problem-solvers who instigate social, economic and/or environmental change creating double or triple bottom line impact (impacting people, planet and profit). This panel will include an interactive discussion of social enterprise as a means for social change and a presentation on the creation of a “Social Enterprise Clinical Support Collaborative” to represent Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, a leading global NGO that identifies and invests in social entrepreneurs.
