Short Abstract : This workshop will begin by exploring the conceptual complexities of environmental justice (“EJ”) and the varying meanings of this dynamic concept in several countries. The presentations will proceed to case studies that exemplify how clinical legal education can contribute to the progressive goals embodied in the concept of EJ. The case studies will focus on mediation, policy, and litigation clinics. Through these case studies, the presenters will analyze common clinical methodologies, the impacts of these approaches on our students and the longer-term consequences for the legal profession, and the involvement of EJ clinics with local communities.
