Title of Presentation : GAJE and the “Global Clinical Movement”
Names of all Presenters : Frank Bloch
Short Abstract : This plenary session will celebrate the publication of THE GLOBAL CLINICAL MOVEMENT, published recently by Oxford University Press. Frank Bloch, who edited the book, will open the session with an overview of the book’s structure and goals (it covers the global reach of clinical education, the social justice mission of global clinical education, and the emergence of a global clinical movement), but most of the session will be devoted to marking and assessing GAJE’s role in furthering the global clinical movement. The session will feature remarks from a number of contributors to the book, focusing on how their work has benefitted from their engagement with the global clinical community, and in particular through their involvement with GAJE. While the book is not about GAJE as such, it represents the spirit behind the formation of GAJE and with almost all of the contributors being current GAJE members it can be seen as a powerful resource for the organizations future.
