Title of Presentation : Clinic from Catastrophe: Justice Education in Haiti

Short Abstract : This panel will describe the efforts to launch a law-school based criminal justice clinic in post-earthquake Haiti. The panel will discuss the challenges the founders have confronted as they seek to integrate a social justice learning model into the traditional Haitian law curriculum in a country that has recovered tragically little from the January 2010 earthquake that killed 300,000 and decimated the country’s legal and other institutions.
