Title of Presentation: Including Economic Justice in a Social Justice Teaching Agenda: The Role of Clinics Representing Non-Profits, Small Businesses and Social Enterprises

Names of all Presenters: Susan Jones

Short Abstract: The goal of this session is to provide an opportunity for participants to think about whether a clinic representing non-profits, microenterprises and social enterprises (“entrepreneurship clinic”) would be feasible and useful in their environments. We will describe the benefits we see in teaching such a clinic and some of the issues and challenges involved. We will also discuss the connection of entrepreneurship to community economic development and economic justice. We will then ask participants to think about their own contexts and will discuss the opportunities and issues they identify.
